Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before using Bellori. By creating an account, you agree to be bound by them.
Last updated: 28 April 2026
1.Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and Bellori (“Bellori”, “we”, “our”, “us”) governing your use of the Bellori web application and any future mobile applications (collectively, the “Service”).
By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
2.Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
- You are the parent or legal guardian of any children whose data you add to your account
- You have the authority to consent to the collection and processing of data about those children
- You will use the Service only for lawful purposes
Bellori is intended for personal, non-commercial family use. Commercial use of the Service requires prior written agreement from Bellori.
3.Account registration and security
You may register using your email address and a password, or via Google sign-in. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password and parental PIN confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
You may not share your account with others or allow multiple people to access the Service using a single account. Each account is for one household only.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.
4.Subscription plans and billing
Bellori offers the following paid subscription plans:
- Monthly plan: £4.99 per month, billed monthly. Renews automatically each month.
- Annual plan: £39.99 per year, billed annually (equivalent to ~£3.33/month, saving approximately 33% vs monthly). Renews automatically each year.
All prices are inclusive of applicable UK VAT. Prices may vary by region to account for local taxes.
Billing: Payments are processed by Stripe. Your payment method will be charged at the start of each billing period. Bellori does not store your payment card details.
Renewals: Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period. You will receive an email reminder from Stripe before each renewal.
Plan changes: You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time via Settings → Subscription. Changes take effect at the start of the next billing period.
Price changes:We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
5.Free trial
The free trial begins on the date you create your account. During the trial period, you have access to all premium features including photo albums, health records, AI story generation, growth timelines, and family tree features.
After the trial: When the trial period ends, your account moves to a restricted free tier. Premium features (photo uploads, health records, AI features, and more) will be locked until you subscribe. Your existing data is preserved and will be accessible again when you subscribe.
One trial per user: The free trial is available once per person. Creating multiple accounts to obtain additional trial periods is a violation of these Terms and may result in permanent account termination.
Trial with Stripe checkout: If you subscribe during or at the end of your trial using Stripe Checkout, your first paid period begins immediately after the trial ends. No charge is applied during the trial.
6.Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Subscription → Manage Billing, or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access to premium features until then.
14-day cooling-off period (UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013):If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom, you have the right to cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase (the “cooling-off period”) and receive a full refund, provided you have not used the subscription features during that period.
If you have used premium features during the 14-day period, you acknowledge that the right to a full refund may be waived, as the service has been partially delivered at your request. In this case, we will calculate a pro-rata refund based on the unused portion of your subscription.
To exercise your right to cancel within the cooling-off period, contact us at support@bellori.app with the subject line “Refund Request”. We will process eligible refunds within 14 days.
After the cooling-off period: Subscription fees are non-refundable for the remainder of the current billing period unless required by applicable law. Annual subscriptions cancelled mid-year are not entitled to a refund for the unused months.
One-time credit packs: AI credit packs (purchased separately) are non-refundable once any credits have been used.
Service disruption: If the Service is unavailable for an extended period due to issues within our control, we will issue a pro-rata credit to your account.
7.AI credits
AI credits are a virtual currency used within Bellori to generate AI-powered content (stories, illustrations, audio, animations). Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed for cash.
- Monthly allocation: Active subscribers receive 10 AI credits per month, refreshed on the billing anniversary date. Unused monthly credits do not roll over.
- Credit packs: Additional credits can be purchased as one-time packs (10 credits for £1.99, 30 credits for £4.99). Purchased credits do not expire while your account is active.
- Credits on account deletion: Any remaining credits are forfeited upon account deletion. Credits are not refundable.
- Credit integrity: We reserve the right to withhold or remove credits if we detect abuse, including but not limited to automated use, reselling AI outputs, or generation of prohibited content.
8.AI-generated content
Ownership:You retain ownership of the content you create using Bellori's AI features (subject to the terms of the underlying AI providers — see Section 12). Bellori does not claim ownership of your AI-generated stories or images.
Licence to Bellori: You grant Bellori a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process your AI-generated content solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you.
Accuracy: AI-generated content may contain errors, hallucinations, or inappropriate outputs. You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before using it with or showing it to children. If you encounter inappropriate AI output, please report it to us immediately.
Prohibited AI uses: You may not use AI credits or features to generate content that:
- Depicts, sexualises, or harms children in any way
- Contains violence, hate speech, or illegal material
- Impersonates real people without their consent
- Violates any third-party intellectual property rights
Violation of prohibited AI uses will result in immediate account termination and, where appropriate, referral to relevant authorities.
9.Your content
Ownership:You retain all rights to the photos, drawings, text, and other content you upload or create in Bellori (“Your Content”). We do not claim ownership of Your Content.
Licence to Bellori: By uploading content, you grant Bellori a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, and process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
Shareable links: When you create a shareable growth timeline link, the relevant composite images become publicly accessible via that unique URL. You are responsible for controlling who you share these links with. You can revoke a shareable link at any time by deleting the export from your account.
Your responsibility: You represent that you have all necessary rights to upload Your Content, including any photos of children or family members, and that doing so does not infringe any third-party rights.
10.Children's data and parental responsibility
As a parent or guardian using Bellori, you are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the legal authority to add children to your account and store their personal data
- Deciding what information about your children to store in the app
- Managing access to shareable timeline links you create
- Reviewing AI-generated content before sharing it with your children
- Keeping your account credentials secure to prevent unauthorised access to your children's data
Bellori provides tools (parental PIN, access controls) to help you manage your account, but ultimate responsibility for your family's data rests with you as the account holder.
By adding a child to Bellori, you confirm that you consent to Bellori storing and processing that child's data as described in our Privacy Policy.
11.Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
- Upload or generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory
- Infringe any intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person
- Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or other users' accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written consent
- Resell, sublicence, or otherwise commercialise the Service or your access to it
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent the one-trial-per-person policy
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to suspend or terminate accounts where violations are found. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in relation to any illegal use of the Service.
12.Third-party services
Bellori integrates with third-party services (Stripe, Google Firebase, YouTube, OpenAI, Replicate and others). Your use of these services within Bellori is also governed by their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Bellori is not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
The YouTube Safe Video Player feature uses the YouTube Data API. By using this feature, you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
13.Service availability
We aim to provide the Service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Planned maintenance (we will give reasonable advance notice where possible)
- Emergency maintenance or security patching
- Events outside our reasonable control (force majeure), including outages of our underlying infrastructure providers (Google Firebase, Stripe, etc.)
We will use reasonable efforts to restore service promptly following any outage. We will not be liable for any loss arising from temporary unavailability of the Service.
14.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
- Bellori shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or emotional distress, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to Bellori in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. This includes your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law, which are not affected by these Terms.
Important: Bellori stores personal and medical information about children at your direction. We strongly recommend that you maintain your own copies of any important health records and photos. While we take data security seriously and maintain backups, we cannot guarantee against data loss and do not accept liability for loss of data that you have not backed up independently.
15.Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence give you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which you are resident and have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
16.Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Notify you by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect
- Display a prominent notice within the app
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must cancel your subscription and stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
